In Alabama, we have two seasons while the rest of the country enjoys four. Our seasons are called really cold and unbearably hot. We have entered the unbearably hot season this past week with temps in the upper 80's, lots of sunshine, and few clouds in sight. This weather will last for about the next seven months or so. I am not complaining, because I enjoy the unbearably hot season to the really cold season. I do not like really cold.
We've been ever so busy lately. Henry had a zoo field trip last Friday. It was so much fun and he was a perfect little boy. He was in charge of the map and led his class around the zoo. He is a natural leader. And since he had so much fun with the map, I think that we may enter the world of geo-caching soon. It would be something that we would all really enjoy, I think. Do you geo-cache?
Also, this past Saturday, Scott participated in StadiumFest. It was a great event. If Scott Dawson is ever in your area, please go see him and support his ministry. At the event this weekend, about 25,000 people attended and were able to hear Rush of Fools, Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio, and Jeremy Camp for FREE. There were lots of other great acts and activities for the kids. We had a great time and I have the sunburn to prove it! There were about 200 lives saved at the event! What a blessing!!
The changes that are on the horizon are with my job situation. I have turned in my notice and will only work up to Henry's last day of preschool. It was a very touch decision, but one that I think will work best for our family. My employers are great people and I really did not want to leave them in a tough position, but paying for childcare this summer would take up most of my paycheck. To us, it was not worth the sacrifice of my time for such little pay after childcare. So, I will soon be a stay at home mom full time again. I am very excited, but a little nervous. With the uncertainty in Scott's job, it was nice to have a little extra money in the bank, but we know that with God and Dave Ramsey, we'll get by just fine.
Scott has entered the love and devotion of Dave Ramsey and I think that it's a good thing, but not all that fun. Dave Ramsey says lots of good things, so now we will see how successful we can be by living on less. It will be a fun challenge. Now, I just need to put on my creative hat and come up with fun and FREE activities for the kids this summer. I've already got my list started, any suggestions?
So, that's our world right now. Scott is playing out a little more, the kids are wrapping up school, and I'm trying to get the house in order for summer. It's wild and crazy, but there are lots of good days. Miss you, friends. Hope to visit more often!
Oh, I've been reading all money saving, frugal blogs and tips I can, but if you have something that is super helpful for your family, I would love to hear it.

Chris Tomlin! Woo hoo! The sad thing is that I'm wooting for him beofore wooting for 200 lives changed! Woo HOO!
We'll be praying for y'all this summer. Yeah, we're about to get serious, too. We have a great resource at church in one of our pastors, who keeps people accountable. That's really all we need. Someone to smack us in the head (figuratively, of course) when we don't do what we're supposed to. The only thing is, I haven't gotten up enough courage to agree with Sound Man to set up a meeting with him. Sigh...I guess I need to if we're going to see any changes around here. : )
